Well-known in diesel enthusiast circles, Bully Dog has branched out in the last few years to cover many gas-powered truck and SUV models as well. But Ford provided the basis for the company to really show its tuning expertise in the form of the F-150 EcoBoost.
Incorporating some familiar technologies to diesel fans, such as direct-injection and turbocharging, Bully Dog was able to leverage its expertise to massage the turbo V-6 for some substantial gains in power and torque. Key to the EcoBoost's transformation was Bully Dog's GT Gas Tuner and Rapid Flow Cold Air Intake. The combination of these two components made a substantial difference in the performance of Ford's twin-turbocharged powerhouse, bringing the rear-wheel horsepower total to 353, a gain of 83 hp over stock.
To prove the effectiveness of their tuning, the company staged a side-by-side trailer pull pitting a stock F-150 EcoBoost against a model fitted with its products.
You might have guessed which model would pull ahead, but the magnitude of difference caught our eye. Watch the video to see how big a difference it was.
