Ram 1500 owners can turn their truck into a prerunner capable of challenging the factory-built Ford F-150 SVT Raptor with Mopar-engineered parts available through local dealers. On this Video Find, Motor Trend's Mike Febbo and professional off-road racer Joe Bacal take the two factory-engineered prerunners to the Nevada Desert to find out which is the better all-around truck.
Febbo first takes the two off-roaders through an on-road driving loop to see if either truck could double as a daily driver. With its good grip but softer suspension, the Ram Runner requires more work to stay on course while the Raptor's precise steering turns in well, staying on the driver's intended line.
Next, Bacal heads to Nevada for some grueling off-road torture to see which truck makes the best desert racer. Check out the video below to see whether the Ram Runner makes up for it on-road shortcomings with a strong off-road performance or whether the Ford Raptor is the best all-around off-road toy.
