Dear Truck Trend,
I am currently a freshman at Humboldt High School. I wrote a research paper about diesel trucks for my LA9 class. I was searching the topic and came across your article, "Tech: Gas vs. Diesel." I thought your article was very helpful in that it contained for the most part all the information I needed to write my research paper. My thesis for this paper is, "I believe that, when comparing gas trucks to diesel trucks, diesel trucks compare favorably; although diesel costs more up front, they produce more power and get better gas mileage."
Although I am by no means an expert on gas and diesel trucks and their engines, some of the information sounded like it could be false. I thought the power and torque couldn't possibly be true. I may be wrong -- this article was written about 10 years ago and many things have changed since then. Overall, I thought the information was relatively true. Thank you for writing this article. It helped me a lot.

Dear Reader,
Glad you liked the story! While much has changed in the last 10 years, you can rest assured that the power and torque numbers were accurate. The only thing that has happened to the power ratings since then is that the new engines now put out even more horsepower and torque.
