1. I believe Mr. Seabaugh is absolutely correct. I've been watching the Wrangler story for decades and when I heard about the Pentastar plus the Mercedes-derived 5 speed transmission, I knew it would be a winner. For those who talk about an 8 speed, I suspect it isn't necessary. I test drove the Unlimited with the old engine, and though proven in minivans, the engine required a heavy foot to move the vehicle...even the lighter two-door Wrangler. I know I like the Sahara line and the 5 speed, so I want to test drive both the regular Wrangler and the Unlimited. I've had 25 forum writers tell me why the 2 door is better, and 25 tell me the 4 door is better. I know the 2 door is cheaper, quicker, lighter, and gets better gas mileage; but, the Unlimited has better highway manners, three times the cargo room, more rear passenger legroom, easy access to the rear seats, and likely better resale since Unlimiteds account for 60% of Wrangler sales. Good writing, Mr. Seabaugh. Like you, I think it's the best yet.
