Dear Truck Trend,
You guys must be smoking something. There is no way the Ford Raptor could compare with the Ram Power Wagon. The Wagon has too many options going for it as a Hard-Core 4x4. Where I work in northern Alberta, Canada, in the oil field, there's an abundance of mud with ruts 3-4 feet deep. The Raptor doesn't have the capabilities to lock all four wheels; it doesn't sit very high; and wasn't built for hard-core off-roading, including rock-crawling, which the Wagon can do. Ford's Raptor would do well in the desert, as I think that's what it was made for, but you shouldn't put it ahead of the Power Wagon just because it has a camera in front. Just so you know, I've had a 1975 Bronco, 1979 Bronco, 1972 K5 Blazer, and a 1975 Blazer, so I do know a bit about what I'm talking about.

Dear Reader,
One of the toughest parts of selecting a winner for the Hard-Core 4x4 category is that we must choose among impressive vehicles that are fantastic all-around off-roaders. We often argue about which one is better than the others, and it's never a unanimous vote, which is why the winner of this category seems to change every year. But we've driven the Raptor in the mud and snow in Michigan, on the trails in Moab, and in the desert, so we know it's a pretty good all-arounder. There's more to the truck than it may seem, and that's why it earned the runner-up spot after the Wrangler Rubicon.
