Chevy released a commercial for the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup ahead of the Super Bowl game this weekend. It begins by showing a devastated metropolis brought about by the apocalypse [some think was] predicted by the Mayan calendar. Amongst the rubble an engine starts and headlights turn on. The Silverado pulls out from under a pile of rocks and debris. As the man and his dog drive through the ruins they pass what appear to be burning buildings and crashed alien space craft.
He pulls up to a rendezvous point with three guys waiting. When he hopes out he asks, “Where’s Dave?”
In a jab at Ford Motor Company one of the men responds saying, “Dave didn’t drive the longest lasting, most dependable truck on the road; Dave drove a Ford.”
After a [very] brief moment of sadness one of the other guys offers the first man a Twinkie (a product likely to outlast its maker) right before a plague of frogs begins raining down.
