The Range Rover Evoque convertible concept just made its appearance at the Geneva show last week, but now it's time to see the open-air off-roader doing what it does best, which is off-road. Or in this case, soft off-road.
Although the Evoque is the smallest Range Rover in the Land Rover lineup, it doesn’t mean it comes up short on off-road capability, which was an important factor judges considered when naming the Evoque our 2012 Sport/Utility of the Year. That doesn’t seem to change much either for the drop-top Evoque, as it’s shown romping a plaza in London, taking on twisties, traversing dirt trails, and driving on sand at the beach. We even get to see the more modest side of the Evoque, as it covers up with its soft-top in the video, although only for a second.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralph Speth said at the Geneva show this week that there is high demand for the Evoque across all markets, and we think it's possible the Evoque Convertible would get the same reception if produced. However, the Nissan Murano Crosscabriolet has been there and done that, with sales numbers showing buyers aren't very interested.
