The Internal Revenue Service is making changes regarding claimed tax credits for alternative fuel vehicles, because a 37-page Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration report said 14,000 people incorrectly claimed $37 million in credits. Among the problems were at least 88 prisoners and some IRS employees making improper claims, and others seeking credit for vehicles that included a Harley-Davidson, Cadillac Escalade (non-hybrid), Hummer H3, and golf carts.
