I've taken our Infiniti QX56 home on a few occasions and enjoyed its lux'o appeal during bumper-to-bumper traffic. This weekend was the first weekend I've gotten to really use our bubbly beast to run errands, visit the in-laws, and haul the family to the park. Even though I have to climb in to the QX56, it doesn't feel as big as it looks when you're in the inside.
I know it's a big SUV -- I'm 5'-4", and the hood comes up to my neck. But when I'm in side, the wrap-around sports car dash makes me feel like I'm the cockpit of a car. With the help of the stadium from seats, I can see just fine over the arch of the hood. The power from the 400-hp engine also keeps the QX56 from feeling like your typical utility tanker. The QX56 went where I wanted it to go when I wanted it go with out having to floor it. The gas pedal was sensitive and didn't need mashing to gain speed I need to merge into traffic. I never once worried about running out of space for coolers or people. The back seats are huge with tons of legroom especially behind my drivers seat. We had to fold the third-row seats up just to keep our groceries from sliding around.

I still don't understand why you need a button in the center console that flips the center seats forward. The first time I pushed that button out of curiosity, it scarred the crap out of me. Mind you I was sitting in traffic at the time and it was the first time I took the vehicle home. But still, who needs to flip a seat while the car is in motion. There should an automatic lock on the seats when the car is in gear. Besides the buttons for the center seats, there isn't one thing I don't like about the QX56. I'm not impressed with its city/highway ratings nor would I really care if I could afford to buy one - as long as I got the power, I'd be ok with this average fuel economy.
