We'll always remember Evel Knievel's suit, cape, and daredevil attitude. And the motorcycles stunt too.
Although Knievel passed away over three years ago, his legacy lives on through his personal 2002 Ford F-150. The F-150 SuperCrew truck was customized by Galpin Auto Sports and has been dubbed the "Gladiator." Knievel put 19,023 miles on it and used it to shuttle himself to and from public functions.
Beau Boeckmann, Galpin Auto Sports president, personally took charge of the customization. Inside, the F-150 was appointed red, white, and blue leather, the same colors favored by the man who would eventually drive the Gladiator. Much of the interior was redone with the same colors, and other modifications include custom "E.K." badges and a Belltech suspension setup with new shocks and springs.
Eventually put up for auction, Gladiator sold for $110,000 through Barrett-Jackson back on January 22. We hope it's doing well.
