Yes, you could spend many months and countless dollars upgrading your fullsize SUV to stand out -- way out -- from the rest, or you could just buy one of our two eBay Finds.
The first is a Candy Tangerine-colored 2004 Nissan Armada. Except for, perhaps, the off-color gas cover, we think this is one well-executed custom SUV. Inside, there's orange-and-white ostrich and leather seats plus two DVD players and four TV screens. Naturally in a vehicle like this, the current owner has added two 12-inch subs and a 1000-watt amp. Taillights have been lifted from the upmarket (but mechanically similar) Infiniti QX56 and black-tinted windows complement the orange paint perfectly. As this is posted, you've got around 15 hours left to bid on this one -- the highest bid so far is $15,601 but the reserve hasn't been met.
Say you like the Nissan but want a custom SUV with less than 70,000 miles, consider this 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe with a stated 19,285 miles. Its multicolored paint job attracts attention, but maybe not as much as the 26-inch Giovanni wheels that have been painted to match the rest of the Tahoe. The starting bid has been set at $28,500; the auction ends about 22 hours from when this was written.
We never thought we'd call a Tahoe subdued -- especially one with 26-inch wheels -- but compared to the bright orange Nissan, the Chevy's arguably the less showy of the two. Is that necessarily a bad thing? Which one of these custom SUVs would you consider bidding on if you had an extra suitcase of cash lying around?
