Mahindra is poised to throw its diesel pickup trucks into U.S. market later this year, along with a diesel SUV to follow in 2010. Hoping its entry-level diesel pickup can find a home in the U.S., the Indian auto manufacturer is looking to preempt the seemingly systematic hostility aimed at oil-burners by organizing a Tour Across America event that will provide an early look at the upcoming trucks.
According to the Mahindra Web site, signing up for the event will provide an opportunity to be among the first in the U.S. to drive a Mahindra (that’s not a tractor). Details on the event are scarce, but expect updates to come soon.
At the time of writing, the Web site indicated a signup total of 6896 curious truck or diesel enthusiasts, so there is still plenty of time to put your name on the list. The only information needed is your name, zip code, and e-mail address.
