1. This editorial couldn't have gotten it more wrong. Since when did anything to do with the government know how to be "properly resourced" or "better focused"? This "oh, it'll be better" attitude serves no one. Parse the quote that there will no longer be an "over-reliance on gas-guzzling full-size trucks and SUVs to drive profits"--this is the new corporate platitude. Was anything driving profits for GM? If it was the gas-guzzling trucks by all means stop production. Makes business sense, right? Al Koch's own estimates suggest the Gov (you and me) will get back 50 cents on every dollar invested. That a suckers bet. I'm beginning to think Hummer may be the big winner here.

2. If Hummer is going to China, as recently announced, I retract what I said about it being a winner. How could the US truck market get worse? Ford goes under.

3. Based on what I saw at the last TOTY competition, I think Hummer will fit right in under Chinese ownership. Plastic pieces were falling off the H3 SUT left and right!
