"We loved the article on the supercharged Tundra that ran in the March/April issue of Truck Trend (First Test: TRD Toyota Tundra) and sincerely appreciate the kind words Thomas Voehringer used to describe the awesome performance of the vehicle tested. In the article, the supercharger is described as "the Eaton Twin Vortices supercharger." We'd like to point out that the supercharger tested is a TRD unit designed and manufactured by Magnuson Products, which utilizes the Eaton Twin Vortices rotor technology.
We (Magnuson) purchase the rotor groups from the Eaton Corporation and then design a supercharger around the Eaton pieces. For years now we have
furnished TRD with the superchargers for its performance programs, currently including the 3.4 Tacoma, 4.5 Land Cruiser, 4.0 Tacoma/FJ (which is also mentioned in the story) and the 5.7 Tundra/Sequoia."

We spoke with some of the guys at TRD, who confirmed this is the case. Toyota and Magnuson work in collaboration on the TRD superchargers and have done so for the last 13 years. The only superchargers that haven't been designed in partnership with Magnuson in that time were those created for Scion. We're sorry we didn't give proper credit to Magnuson for its work with Toyota Racing Development and on this blistering fast Tundra.
