1. I don't like the LR4. For Land Rover the current focus seems to be on luxury vehicles designed for city/highway driving. Add in Land Rovers notorious reputaton for very poor vehicle reliability and those looking for a very capable off-road vehicle should definately look elsewhere.

2. The new LR4 is a thoroughly excellent vehicle. I took delivery of one about three weeks and put 2,000 miles on the clock. The vehicle is faster and more responsive than the Range Rover Sport (2006) I switched from and the spaciousness inside (not to mention cargo carrying capacity) is fantastic.

The rear view camera which activates while reversing is really neat and turns precision parking into a ambition.

The service internal is recommended every 15,000miles versus the 2006 sport 7,500 suggesting a higher level of reliability for the new vehicle.

Minor quibbles;

1. The cup holders are difficult to reach from the drivers position being down and behind.

2. The LCD screen controlling telephone, music etc. would benefit from larger buttons on screen - hopefully a software update will be possible.

3. Navteq navigation system should enable zip (post) code entry.

3. I just spent a week in the LR4 off-roading and its a great off-roader. Its sad that most these vehicles sold in the US will never leave the pavement.
