The story about the long-term 2007 Silverado Crew Cab in the September/October issue stated that you wish it had the 9.5-inch rearend, 4L70 transmission and heavy-duty cooling, and four-wheel disc brakes. I have this identical truck with the 6.0 Max, without the Max trailering package. I did some checking, and those options must be part of the 6.0 motor package. It seems all you really get with the Max trailering package is the 4.10 gears. You can confirm some of this by checking the rear axle. If you have the 9.5-inch axle, it'll have a drain plug in the bottom like the 2500 HD trucks. Also listed in the glovebox or the order sheet it will indicate the 4L70 or M70 transmission. I was happy that the 6.0-liter engine package included all this on my truck, and it didn't seem like the Max trailering package was worth the extra money for the gears. I think you might be surprised how much came with the 6.0 Max engine.
