1. I'm surprised that Cerberus would want to shed itself of Chrysler. With the change of the political landscape, it would seem that owning all of GMAC would be more of a liability given that lending institutions will be undergoing significant scrutiny in the coming year. Also, a merged GM/Chrysler would result in a single company getting single set of government loans or support. Things had to get worse for the U.S. economy in general before people would invest in U.S. manufacturers anyhow. Chrysler has more desirable vehicles than GM and gas prices will be down for a while. It is a good time to own Chrysler (as in the company or even the product).
