It's an exciting time for hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered vehicles, as GM has released more than 100 Chevy Equinox fuel-cell-powered SUVs to testers in California, New York, and Washington as part of an awareness project called Project Driveway. Initial response to the project is good, with GM's intention being to raise awareness of not only its Chevy Equinox test vehicles, but general awareness of hydrogen fuel cells. It's important for folks like the Lee family to get their hands on the test vehicles because SUVs would be on their shopping list.
It's exciting to see what's in store for these fuel-cell vehicles as they will release the general public from the consumption of gasoline. With hydrogen fuel cells set to power everything from cell-phones to buildings, fuel-cell-powered vehicles are only a few years away. Word-of-mouth advertising and having general testing credibility are important in ensuring the news of the technology is getting out. Many recent blogs have been written about the personal recounts of testing these Equinox SUVs in sunny Southern California (should be located below). Be sure to check them out, too.
