1. The Venza is a very smart business move on Toyota's part in keeping the current Lexus RX model alive albeit under the Toyota badge.

With the RX morphing into a significantly newer model for the 2010 model year, the folks at Toyota would be foolish to let the current RX model die off being it's still the biggest selling and hugely popular model under the Lexus brand. However, the RX has not become distinct enough from competing models in the non-luxury market. Therefore, the rebadging with a few sheet metal changes and some updates will make it a popular Toyota model.

Meanwhile the RX will become a sleeker, sportier crossover and attempt to make a separation from its old self. I'm guessing the upcoming RX may continue with the basic Camry frame but will have brand new suspension, a firmer and more taut ride. It will probably maintain its two-row seating configuration.

I'm far more intrigued how Toyota will configure the Vienza. Based on experience with the Lexus RX and the more competitive pricing as a Toyota, the Vienza will be a very compelling choice.
