My sunny Friday mid-morning drive yielded a lot of eye candy and beater-classics on the open road. Take a look at what caught my eye this wonderful morning.
It started out great. The first vehicle I spotted was a 1980's Ferrari, with dealer plates, nonetheless. I know it isn't a truck, but it just looked so good cruising the highway.
Farther down the road, I approached a classic 1970's Volkswagen crew-cab utility van that looked like it had a lot of TLC. These VWs were workhorses in their heydays. Some had canopy tops that covered the rear toolbox beds. Nowadays, they are just classic.
Not everything I came across had a pretty new paint job. Like this 1977-79 Dodge Club Cab Sweptline pickup. This body was introduced in August 1977, and from what you can see, it's stood the test of time and is still rolling. This Dodge is clearly a diamond in the rough.
Last but not least, and not a truck -- an all-new Jaguar XF sedan. It looked amazing as we sat next to each other on the highway. I'm not a huge Jag fan, but this color in the morning light just screamed at me to give it my attention. Apparently, my little Mini grabbed his attention, too. As traffic on the highways came to a stop, I noticed his passenger window roll down and I heard "That's a great looking MINI" from the older gentleman in the driver's seat. So I returned his compliment with "I love your Jag!" and a smile. Now only if I can get lifted pick-up owners to do that. J
I love morning drives like today.
