As I sit here in the media center at the famed Cobo center in Detroit, I'm trying to figure out how we’re going to get the live updates we promised as automakers present the latest concepts. By the time I post this blog, most of the excitement will be underway and I’ll be scrambling to get it done. Our Web page went down Saturday night due to poorly timed back-end upgrades that basically didn’t work. By time you read this the show might be over and I’m already back in L.A.
On a side note, my flight from L.A. to Detroit was great. I couldn’t sleep on the plane, but I was entertained by our flight attendants. As drinks were being served, they gave us the option to have a glass of what was offered or the whole can. There were juices of all sorts and as expected OJ was on the menu. But to my amusement, OJ was being severed in a little 1-quart plastic jug that looked just like a gallon of milk.. It was tiny and cute. So when the flight attendant asked if I wanted a glass or the full can, I jokingly ad,itted, “I want the jug.” The flight attendant handed me the jug with a huge smile on his face. As cute as the little orange juice jug was, it was a lot to drink. I polished off my first glass and the flight attendant finished his way down the aisle. About five minutes later he returned and presented me with a freshly cleaned and empty jug to take home. I was happy in my own sick way, and it made everyone around me laugh.
Our touchdown in Detroit Wayne International Airport was a good one and I proudly carried my little jug off the plane. So that's my traveling excitement so far. Me and my mini jug.
Update: I'm sitting in Cobo center and our Web page is down! Can't post blogs either,. but i can post a blog reply! I'll try my hardest to get you the info we promised. Just don't hold your breath.
