We're just getting ready to head out the door and attend the 2008 North American International Auto Show, and this year looks to be a good one for truck guys. We hear the snow are ready for their world debuts.
This is the Big Show for the U.S. automakers, and they don't seem to know how to do anything in moderation nowadays—even with fuel prices in flux and brand new CAFE numbers on the horizon. And this year, with two major, very important products out for Ford and Dodge, you can bet there will be scrambling as to who's introduction will get more attention.
We'll be right there in the thick of it, running from press conference to press conference, interview to interview, and crummy media lunch to crummy media dinner, all so you can get all the information just as you would if you were here with us. What can we say, we're here for you. We'll be on the ground with a team of editors, collecting every scrap of info on the next big pickup or SUV and blogging as much as we can. Associate Editor Allyson Harwood, Detroit Editor Todd Lassa, and Technical Editor Frank Markus, along with me, will post our observations and insights as often as we can. Be sure to check both trucktrend.com and motortrend.com for all the bloody and glorious details.
There's a lot riding on these new vehicles, especially for Ford and Dodge, so every minute should be interesting to watch. We'll even put together some videos so you can see the vehicles up close, from eye-level, soon after they've pulled the wraps off the shiny new bodies. We may even have a few surprises you won't be able to find anywhere else. In the meantime, let's hope this won't be the snow storm that shuts down all the northwest flights. Get ready for a bumpy ride. Stay tuned.
