Earlier today Frank Klegon, Chrysler's executive vice president of product development, said that Chrysler will be introducing a diesel-powered variation of their light-duty pickup some time after 2009, according to AutoNews.
"We anticipate diesels will comprise up to 15 percent the next decade," Klegon said.
I'm a little baffled about this news because Chrysler doesn't have any light-duty trucks in its passenger-vehicle lineup. I'm assuming they're talking about the freight truck lines, but then again why would those be called "light-duty"? Not much was said, otherwise, at AutoNews to give us more details.
