Ford's latest F-150 is a rock-solid pickup with a quiet ride and a heavy-duty backbone. Unfortunately all that strength also translates to added weight, and the 5.4L V8 doesn't feel as powerful as it probably should. Now there's a solution. The airflow experts at Gale Banks Engineering have opened up the Ford F-150's breathing with a flowbench-developed, dyno-proven Ram-Air Intake System. Increasing airflow - especially fresh cold air - into the intake tract means your pickup will accelerate harder and be more fun to drive. Together with its High-Ram intake plenum, the Ram-Air Intake System outflows the stock setup by up to 79%.
The Ram-Air Intake's lifetime filter has multiple plies and deep filter pleats for maximum high-flow filtration. The large Banks filter and outlet provide a greater filter area than stock's, resulting in fewer filter cleanings and more sustained performance. The Banks engineers gave the Ram-Air Intake components a wide-open, streamlined design. And to give the engine greater power, Banks' complete air filter housing draws in the cooler, denser, under-vehicle air. In addition, Banks replaces the small factory bellows with large 4 1/2" bellows to improve flow while accommodating engine movement. The system is available separately or as part of Banks Stinger and Power Pack engineered power systems.
