Rumors of Toyota's plans to unveil three new vehicles at this year's SEMA show have surfaced on Autoblog.
Toyota is planning to have a heavy-duty (HD) diesel "dualie" Tundra pickup possible by Hino. The only problem the Tundra faces is how Toyota plans on shoving a diesel engine in the bay. Popular Mechanics reported that most engines are just too big for that space. We might see a smaller 4.5-liter diesel V-8 engine Toyota has been working on for a while.
Also on the list to make an appearance is the FJ Cruiser Convertible concept with a removable hardtop. Although it's not clear if the convertible will become a full production vehicle, it's being called a "production prototype" with hopes of becoming available to the public soon.
Last but not least, it's rumored the all-new 2009 Corolla will make its debut at SEMA. The Corolla's last makeover in 2003 gave it a sportier look, and sales have been strong with this popular sedan. There's talk of a hatchback/coupe version in the future as well.
