According to Motor Trend sources, plans have been set by Cadillac on an all-new SRX crossover redesign for 2011.
As per Motor Trend:
"The Caddy and Saab are on a transverse-engine platform with some part-sharing with the Epsilon (Chevy Malibu, et al.) platform. The design uses such familiar Caddy elements as vertical lighting front and rear, the centerline crease and sheer side surfaces, but the hood and tailgate are more domed than on the firm's other vehicles. The headlamps are pulled back over the tops of the front fenders, and the tailgate wraps around the vehicle's sides to meet a raked D-pillar. A strong, straight rising crease on the flanks gives an impression of wedginess.
Like the second-gen CTS, the new crossover features sewn, soft-touch surfaces for the entire dash and door moldings. Customers will be offered a wide range of interior color schemes, as with BMW and Mercedes. A navigation screen motors upward from the dash, and a speedometer with LCD information screen is in the center of the dial."
Although the SRX is targeted for the European market, the U.S. version might get lucky and be offered in the diesel V-6 if Saturn could make it emissions-compliant, but this is still up in the air.
