The U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) rewarded the newly redesigned 2008 Subaru Tribeca with 5-stars for both the frontal and side- impact crash tests.
The Tribeca recently debuted at the 2007 New York Auto Show with a fresh new front fascia, a bolder look, and a new, larger 3.6-liter engine. Also, the 'beca introduced the new flexible 5 or 7-passenger seating which were all tested for safety. Larger side mirrors and the rear quarter window were also widened to increases visibility.

Subaru adapted its 'Active Safety' concept that intergraded the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Variable Torque Distribution All-Wheel Drive with Vehicle Dynamics Control for the best stability and four-wheel traction control for the Tribeca. These features create one of the most efficient traction and handling systems in the compact SUV market today.
