Jeep faces the Feds as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) starts an investigation of nearly 163,000 2006-2007 Jeep Commanders because of unexpected engine failure.
The NHTSA has 26 reports from owners of engines turning off while driving; two such reports have resulted in accidents.
Commanders owners are waiting for an official recall from the NHTSA. DaimlerChrylser has announced it is aware about the problem and has a team that is dedicated into finding the problem.
