AutoCar reports that the Land Rover is waiting for the final "go" on the re-designed Land Rover Range Rover.
This new Range Rover, scheduled to go on sale in 2012, is the first of the Land Rover line up to get a full makeover both inside and out(and in between). The body is planned to be constructed from aluminum and give a dramatic weight loss of about 40% compared to the current model. The front takes on a more aggressive face with a shorter roofline. This gives the vehicle a more stout stance on the road.
Land Rover and Jaguar mixed ideas to create two new 5.0-litre V8s, expecting power outputs of around 350bhp and 460bhp, with or without a supercharger. A 4.0-liter diesel and hybrid powertrain are also on the horizon.
