Pontiac Aztek and Buick Rendezvous investigated By NHTSA

Autoblog has announced that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating 2001 to 2004 Pontiac Aztec and Buick Rendezvous SUVs for a possible recall as a part of the second stage in its investigation.

Close to 280 thousand vehicles are in question. The NHTSA has received about 213 customer complaints reporting faulty welding around the SUVs' fuel tank filler piper. The result is a leak in fuel fumes and/or gasoline from that pipe.

1. Does anyone else have a problem with the control panel on the buick rendezvous (2004 model)? The head mechanics seem to be clueless and I am left without heat! Sometimes it(the heat/air temp. control panel)comes on and sometimes it does not. If anyone has any insight to this problem, I would love to hear I'm not the only one!
