1. I like the logic on this post. That was part of why I got 4 wheel drive on the family SUV -- I figured we'd go to the snow at least a couple times in the lifetime of the car, and wanted the additional safety four wheel drive would present in that situation.

2. Can't speak for anyone else, but all 5 of my vehicles (yep, ALL 5) are 4X4. Why? Because sometimes during the winter, I need it to get out of my driveway. Because I'm an avid hunter and fisherman and some places are inaccessible with 2wd. Because I love to go wheeling and see where we can go. Because I feel that my family is better off with it in anyplace we're likely to live. Because I can. *** both of my ATVs are even 4X4s. As for those who are on the "no one REALLY needs 4wd" bandwagon, you should stay in town where you belong. Domino's might be able to deliver to you during a snowstorm, but it'll be someone like me pulling your sorry ass out of a ditch sometime.

Like comment #1 says, this is a good argument for some people. Others, like me, view 4X4 capability as a tool. Some may have awesome kitchen knife sets, some are into paper cutters, but I actually use my 4X4s for their intended purpose.
