With gas prices continuing to make a dent in consumers' disposable income, it would seem that light truck sales would have taken a big hit. While pickups and SUVs did experience a bit of a sales drop during the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year, sales of crossover utility vehicles (CUVs) actually rose. Sales of CUVs during the months of January through March reached 652,588 units, which is 15.6% more than the same time last year. Overall pickup sales reached 653,485 (4.2% less than last year), while SUV sales fell 7% to 485,255 units. The tables below show the top SUV, pickup and CUV sales over the last three months.
