Applied Products, Inc. has manufactured and distributed its RETRAX truck bed cover. The patented RETRAX is unique because it is manufactured from polycarbonate, a durable thermoplastic commonly known as LEXAN. The rigid one-piece polycarbonate sheet incorporates sealed ball-bearing rollers and it is engineered to retract or close without joints or hinges that can trap dust, wear out or freeze. Polycarbonate has excellent impact resistance and is unaffected by sun, moisture or temperatures from -50º to +200º F. The RETRAX is maintenance-free and its low-profile design has a gloss-black finish that it is UV treated for protection from the sun.
The engineers at Applied Products, Inc. utilize the same technology used in fighter jet windshields and bullet-proof glass and designed a bed cover that withstands the most rugged use. Tempered aluminum support beams imbedded into the polycarbonate sheet add strength and security.
