There's an on-going war between import and domestic manufactures to win the loyalty of truck buyers. Autobytel's most recent survey on full-sized trucks proved once again that Toyota is still top on minds of consumers. Over 25% of the survey participants said they would buy a new Toyota Tundra over the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, and Dodge Ram. Reliability of the brand’s vehicles was one of the reasons that Toyota was favored on the survey.
And the domestic truck makers have good reason to be concerned. Toyota’s second-generation Tundra lineup is all-new, offering three engines (4.0-liter V-6 with 236hp, 4.7-liter V-8 with 271hp, and a 5.7-liter V-8 reported to have 330hp) and three body style.
Starting price for the Tundra begins at $26,480. With so many options to pick the perfect truck for your needs, the domestic manufactures should be scared.
