It seems that biodiesel has become a cause celebre.
Actors Larry Hagman and Daryl Hannah (pictured) attended the recent National Biodiesel Conference held in San Antonio, Texas, to tout the benefits of biodiesel. In fact, Hannah has attended every conference since the first one held in Palm Springs, California in 2004.
Moreover, the San Antonio conference had a pre-registration of more than 3,000. Yet by Monday afternoon, registration had exceeded more than 3,800.
Our take? Since the first conference in 2004, each succeeding one has almost doubled in attendance. This may be the first definite sign that Americans are serious in pursuing alternative energy sources for the first time since the first gas shortage. We hope it continues.
